Suicide Forest – A Reaction to Logan Paul

Starting off 2018 in a chaotic mess is none other than Logan Paul. This comes to no shock anymore with the Paul brothers of Youtube as they would do literally anything for fame. LITERALLY ANYTHING FOR FAME! Now Youtubers have reputations of being screw ups we get it for example Pewdiepie saying the N word while playing a game on live stream or Jack Maynard and Zoella’s past being dug up and finding out they used offensive words when they were younger. But nothing NOTHING prepared any of us for this.

Thinking it was a cool trip to vlog, Logan headed over to Japan and while he got a couple of cool and annoying (in my opinion) videos, there was one in particular that was alarming. The title was, “We Found a Dead Body in the Japanese Suicide Forest” if that wasn’t creepy enough, the thumbnail photo for the video was one of him with the dead body. HE POSTED A VIDEO ABOUT A DEAD BODY AND THEN MADE HIM THE THUMBNAIL! Now although most of the body and face is blurred we have to ask, why? Why did he feel the need to go off trail when everyone knows to follow the path, they instruct you to follow the path for a reason. Why was he really shocked when him and his friends went off trail and found a dead body? It’s called suicide forest for a reason Logan!

Now being that they discovered the body, yes there would be initial shock, but that’s where you would put the camera away and walk back to the path or car or police immediately right? Not Logan. He then proceeds to laugh obnoxiously with his friends and films the dead body just chilling there by the tree. If that wasn’t bad enough, his friend says something about getting the camera and going closer. So Logan goes closer to film a close shot of the body. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DISRESPECT A PERSON LIKE THAT LET ALONE DEAD ONE!

Logan claims this wasn’t for the views because he has enough of those, ( a little vain no?) he also claims its not for the money because he demonetized his own video, (Youtube would have done it anyways you beat them to it). His claim was that this was for Suicide Awareness. You could have described what happened when you were away from the scene. You could have made another type of video for Suicide Awareness. You could have raised money for Suicide Awareness. You chose to disrespect a family and person’s corpse for views. Not only for the beginning of the Japanese trip did you disrespect their culture, you went above and beyond.

The worst part is his fandom actually believes he did right. Logan made an apology letter in which he says the word sorry once and goes on about why he is so great. The letter is stated below:

‘Let’s start with this – I am sorry. This is a first for me. I have never faced criticism like this before because I have never made a mistake like this before. Good people surround me, and I think I make good decisions, but I am still a human being. I can be wrong, I didn’t do it for views. I get views. I did it because I thought I’d make a positive ripple on the Internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity. That was never the intention. I intended to raise awareness for suicide prevention and while I thought ‘if this vid saves just ONE life, it would be worth it,’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as seen in the video. I still am.’

This video would most likely trigger a person not save a life Logan. You found a dead body, you laughed and got closer. Only after you got your footage did you tell someone and they even scolded you for getting off the path. You didn’t leave the dead alone. That wasn’t peace. How is that saving a person? You’re discouraging people if anything to see that if they do die they will just be laughed at and used anyways.

He did also record an apology video and is taking a hiatus from Youtube, he also hired a bodyguard in case anything gets out of hand. Let’s hope this teaches a lesson that no matter how high your horse is, everyone has a voice!
